rene marroquin: President

Born in New Orleans, LA, Coach Rene has seen the ups and downs of soccer on the WestBank. From age 11 thru 15, Coach Rene played recreational ball at the height of Harvey Playground in Jefferson Parish. From 15 thru 19, he played travel ball with Plantation Athletic Club (P.A.C.) in Algiers, LA, and high school ball as a Holy Cross Tiger in New Orleans. With the decline of soccer in Jefferson Parish, Coach Rene has made it a priority to be a voice for the growth of soccer in Jefferson Parish. Coach Rene holds a U.S.A. Class “F” and “E” License.

leonardo marroquin: Director of Coaching

Native of San Salvador, El Salvador, Coach Leo has made his mark for soccer in the area. From playing semi-professional as goalkeeper with team Olimpia of New Orleans from the mid 80’s through the mid 70’s, to being an inspiration and role model to the youth of the WestBank in recreation soccer for Jefferson Parish and Plantation Athletic Club (P.A.C.) in Algiers, LA. Coach Leo continues to bring his knowledge and enjoyment of the game to the area. He holds a U.S.A. Class “E” License.

gustavo rivera: Director Of competitive soccer

Known as an attacking threat for semi-professional team Olimpia of New Orleans in the mid 70’s thru mid 80’s, and as a leader and encouraging figure to the youth of the area, Coach Gus has come along way from his native country of Honduras. Coach Gus brings the irresistible joy and excitement that is the ethos of WestBank Soccer. He has coached recreation soccer for Jefferson Parish, and also coached for Plantation Athletics Club (P.A.C) in Algiers, LA. Coach Gus holds a U.S.A. Class “F” License.

dylan borgouis: director of Recreation soccer

Born and raised on the WestBank, Coach Dylan was brought up in soccer through the Jefferson Parish Recreation program, Playing for Pard Playground in Marrero, LA. From 2009 thru 2013 he would go on to play for Shaw High School, picking up all-district honors and a district title in 2013 that would mark the end of a 21 year drought for the Eagles. Coach Dylan has been an inspiration to all home grown youth players that look at him as a great example of how a WesBank player represents his/her community. He holds a U.S.A. “F” License.

Kerlin lainez: Recreation/Goalkeeper Coach

Native of Honduras, Coach Kerlin has a deep loyalty and admiration to what WestBank Soccer is, and represents. His discipline and dedication reverberates to every player in the club. Having played in several leagues in New Orleans, His enjoyment and excitement that he demonstrates at every practice and game lights up the emotions of all the players that have called WestBank FC home. His presence at every event motivates all players and coaches to continue moving forward and to play at the their maximum level.

chad maggio: TREASURER

Coach Chad is the financial caretaker of the club. He is a graduate of Shaw High School in Marrero, LA, and a graduate of New Orleans University, with a bachelor in accounting. With his desire to not only make sure that the club wheels are always greased and ready to roll, but to also grow in soccer knowledge and learn from the experience around him, makes Coach Chad a great leader for the youth WestBank Soccer.

Alejandro Fletes: Recreation Coach

Coach Alex has been able to witness the growth of soccer in the New Orleans Metro Area since his arrival to the Big Easy from his native country of Nicaragua. He played his youth ball at the historic St. Alphonsus Elementary, followed with a state championship at Warren Easton High School in 83’. From 83’ thru 86’ he played for team Olimpia and with team Motagua from 86’ thru 87’ at the Pan American League in New Orleans. His energy and dedication to fitness helps motivate each player to be as active as possible.
